Harry's New York Bar celebrated their 100th anniversary by commissioning Laphroig to make a special edition. This was Cask #49 from Decanter 87 of 229. It is 57.1% ABV.
Matt Color: Light gold Nose: Heat! Salt, grapefruit, lemon, honey-heather. Palate: Silky smooth to start, salt, honey. Finish: Long and hot. Lots of salt. w/ Water: Softens the intensity but still dominates the flavor. More vanilla in palate. If you are going to drink this, though, why dilute it? SCORE: 9.1 / 9.1 Jim Color: Pale gold. Nose: Burn, peat, smoke, citrus zest. Cantaloupe and honey. Palate: Heat, burn, then sweet honey and salt. Finish: Loooooong, hot, salty, citrus & cantaloupe undertones, medicinal. w/ Water: Still burny, just not in-your-face-y. SCORE: 9.2 / 9.0
