Ryes are something that Jim and I have been slow to the game with. For myself, I tend to use rye as a mixer for some of my favorite cocktails but the Bulleit Rye was the 1st rye that made me realize that there is more to rye than just a mixer.
Jim: Color: dark orange Nose: oak, vanilla, the plastic bubbles from when I was a kid that you blew with a straw Palate: pretty nice, sweet, cherry, candied bitter fruit Finish: spicy, short w/water: nice, mellows flavors 8.3/8.3 Matt: Color: Amber Nose: oak, leather, tobacco, household cleaner Palate: cherry, peach, oak, candied ginger Finish: spicy, cinnamon, clove, very nice w/water: better nose, doesn't improve the palate 8.4/8.4 Price: $45.55 Q: Is it worth it? A: As with the Copper Fox, you can find this cheaper than $45 here in the states. Generally, we pay around $30 a bottle. The Bulleit Rye is something that we always keep stocked in our bar and is our go to rye. So yes, we say it is worth it.
